I accidentally did this to someone at the end of the semester.  Not sure whether I should feel ecstatic or guilty…

I LOVE Ranger’s Apprentice (from here on out in this post, and probably in the future, I will be referring to it as RA), and found it very influential. I’ve now found horseback riding and archery to be fun (too bad can’t have them as a full hobby as I can REALLY go horseback riding or even do…

He felt an unfamiliar prickling sensation in his eyes and a strange sense of loss.
“Good-bye for now, Will,” he whispered. “I’ll be keeping an eye on you.”
Halt felt that same prickling sensation once more as he finished the story. He
turned away slightly so that Will couldn’t see the tears that had formed in his eyes.

Ranger’s Apprentice

Been through this series umpteen times, and yet again, I found myself smiling at the thought of reliving the adventure. Impeccable story-telling filled with countless adventures keeps the page turning. This is a tale about a young orphan named Will. Will is a small young man, thin, wiry and less than fit to be a knight in the King’s army. To his dismay and at the cost of being laughed at, Will is taken on as a Ranger’s apprentice by the mysterious Ranger Halt, a grim-faced, grey-bearded man, whose silent and unnerving attitude is mistaken for sorcery. The story takes readers through Will’s journey of realizing what it means to be hero, what it means to have courage and above all what it means to have loyal friends. The laughter never stops yet somehow the plot always thickens with never ending danger right around the corner. I become teary-eyed every time I end the series but I’d do it again. And again. A must read for all adventure lovers.
